USS Salvation NCV-478607
The USS Salvation is an experimental vessel devised and constructed in the latter part of the 29th century. Designed to detect temporal disasters, evade them, recruit a crew, facilitate reparations to the timeline and, failing that, preserve the knowledge, culture and technology of the UFP, the Salvation is equipped with a number of advanced technologies.

The USS Salvation
At the heart of the Salvation is a temporal displacement drive which allows her to travel through time as well as space. It also contributes a vital defensive role, allowing, in conjunction with deflectors, the ship to phase slightly from space-time, which protects the vessel from many conventional weapons. The drive is a recent invention, even for the 29th century, with most timeships to date utilising temporal rifts for their travel. The displacement drive removes the need for rifts, which can destabilize, potentially pulling other vessels inside (VOY: "Future's End") and causing undesirable alternate timelines. The propulsion system also includes conventional warp drive, integrated into the temporal displacement drive, allowing the Salvation to sustain high warp indefinitely when necessary.

The Temporal Displacement Drive
The ship’s hull is comprised of a neutronium alloy matrix, which helps to protect the ship from weapons which can breach the protection offered by the displacement drive, such as various chroniton torpedoes. Unlike the protection afforded by the displacement drive, the hull will deteriorate with sustained impacts.
Once final piece of defensive technology is the holographic camouflage projector system (HCPS), which, utilising a combination of particle synthesis and holographics, allows the Salvation to take on the appearance of vessels native to its current time frame. In conjunction with alterations to power readings, this becomes an effective form of stealth. Cloak and phase cloak technologies are still banned to UFP vessels, while the ‘subspace cloak’ exhibited by the Think Tank still remains a mystery. Phasing the ship out of space-time to the point where the ship would be rendered undetectable is not an option, as that would effectively erase the ship from existence. As a result, this is the best compromise, though a detailed scan by another vessel will reveal the deception.

The HCPS Activated (C24th)
While weapon systems were not seen as necessary to the Salvation’s primary mission which is restorative and should seek to minimise further impacts to the timeline beyond the disaster which initiated the vessel’s mission, the secondary role of the ship, to perverse the memory of the United Federation of Planets does require the ability to defend the ship. With large power reserves, designers erred on the side of caution, equipping the salvation with 10 phaser strips and 8 torpedo launchers (4 fore, 4 aft), with the latter able to accommodate a wide range of torpedoes.
The Salvation is a prototype, so expected duration is a theoretical exercise, though one would expect something in the region of 100 years. Resupply is largely unnecessary as replicators allow for the provision of a wide array of items and energy is bountiful.
At 165 metres long, 305 metres wide and 45 metres high, the Salvation is a small ship given what she is capable of. Her 8 decks provide living space for the small crew, space for the temporal observatory, engine room, command module and other essential facilities. Much space is also dedicated to the archives, which preserve DNA samples and other items which can’t be stored as data and replicated.
Unfortunately, as the disaster took place before the ship was finished, the HCPS is offline, the databanks are incomplete and the ETH (emergency temporal hologram) is also offline, which would normally take command of the vessel while acquiring crew and, upon acquisition, offer advice in the event that no temporally trained agents are available. The temporal observatory is also awaiting final components to be brought online, forcing any potential crew to rely on conventional interfaces to interpret the timeline for the time being. Finally, the armament was not loaded, meaning the Salvation is unable to use its weapons.
